Overview
This assignment requires you to evaluate a current healthcare or nursing related issue. Potential topics include:
- Health literacy
- Social determinants of health
- Access to healthcare services
- Disclosing adverse events in clinical practice
- Bioethics
- Population health initiative
- Student choice of topic approved by instructor.
Instructions:
- Create and record a PowerPoint presentation that is no more than 10 slides & less than 30 minutes in recorded length. Title and reference slides are not included in the slide limit.
- Student achievement will be evaluated using the Healthcare Today rubric which focuses on your ability to:
- Present the chosen topic and its impact on patient and/or population health. (25%)
- Discuss current policies and/or bills or initiatives addressing the topic. (25%)
- Describe how the topic influences nursing practice. (25%)
- APA formatted In-Text Citations and References: use at least 5 scholarly resources. (15%)
- Attractiveness: The PowerPoint should be engaging, readable and attractive (5%)
- Spelling/Grammar: The PowerPoint should be free of grammar and spelling errors (2.5%)
- Length: no more than 10 slides total, not including the title and reference slide and no more than 30 minutes. (2.5%)
