Nuclear energy is often a controversial source of energy but is also an important alternative source that can produce emission-free electricity. Visit the Office of Nuclear Energy to learn more about nuclear energy in the United States then conduct additional research to learn about the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear energy.
Create a new thread for your initial post and discuss the following:
- Describe at least two (2) advantages and two (2) disadvantages of nuclear energy. Be specific and be sure to cite your sources.
- Do you think that nuclear energy is a viable option and should be expanded in the U.S. and around the world? Why or why not? Be specific and back up any claims with citations.
Respond to at least two (2) of your classmates' posts discussing the following:
- Provide a suggestion on how nuclear energy can be promoted and marketed as a beneficial energy source.
- Discuss an alternative source of clean energy that could be used successfully in place of (or in conjunction with) nuclear energy.
- Each post should offer a different suggestion and source of clean energy.
