Annotated Bibliography
Your organization is researching healthcare pay-for-performance (P4P) initiatives as the first step in a restructuring process. You have been placed on a committee that is working to evaluate initiatives the organization may use in the future. It was determined that a logical first step would be to perform a review of the literature pertaining to quality improvement initiatives. You are going to begin that step by gathering literature and organizing it in an annotated bibliography.
Locate 6–8 peer-reviewed, scholarly journal articles discussing P4P (pay4performance) initiatives. These articles should focus on:
- The rationale behind P4P initiatives
- The overall intent of P4P development
- The pros and cons of P4P initiatives
Using those articles, you will prepare an Annotated Bibliography.
Note: You should aim to keep your completed Annotated Bibliography between 5 and 6 pages
As you perform library database and Internet searches for suitable articles, keep the following criteria in mind:
- Each article should be current (published within the past 5 years) and relevant to your chosen topic. An exception to the requirement that the article be published within the past 5 years will be made if the article is considered to be seminal (i.e., a foundational work that is considered highly influential and is highly referenced by others in the field).
- Each article should be from a reputable, peer-reviewed publication.
After your resources are collected, create your Annotated Bibliography, and include the following items for each of your chosen articles:
- 1 properly formatted APA reference
- 1 paragraph summarizing the contents of the article
• 1 paragraph describing how the article is meaningful to the topic of P4P initiatives
