Overview
DO NOT INCLUDE THE DIRECTIONS IN YOUR SUBMISSION. If you do this, your submission will not be graded, and you will receive a ZERO.
Minimal effort will receive minimal points. Doing the bare minimum to meet the length standards is not sufficient and is very obvious. Your sentences need to be meaningful and directly related to the subject matter. If you just do a good job on the assignment, you will easily exceed the minimums.
Module 2 Report Directions.
Create a report that includes the following and then submit it.
1. Go to a search engine. Type in something like "Darwin biography video" to find your own video or videos about Darwin. Watch 10 to 15 minutes’ worth of material. You can watch more if you like, of course.
a. While you watch, take YOUR OWN notes, in YOUR OWN WORDS, such that you can do the following: List the web addresses of your video or videos, and for each, record the amount of time you watched that video. Please number your videos.
Example:
Video one: Web address: _________________ Watched 3 minutes.
Video two: Web address: _________________ Watched 10 minutes.
(Watch for 10 to 15 minutes total).
2. 5 pts. Using your notes: Type five facts you learned in the video(s). Title this section "Facts" and use the following format. Make the 3rd fact say, “Darwin was a rebellious teenager, even dyeing his hair green for a short time.”
Facts:
o Fact 1 from video __: Darwin flew airplanes in the war.
o Fact 2 from video __: Type the fact
o Do this until you get five facts. (You can get all your facts from just one video if you like.)
3. 3 pts Write a complete paragraph doing a Movie Review on one of the videos you watched. Title this section "Movie Review". Make the first word of each sentence start with a “g”.
4. 7 pts Research one thing you found interesting in one of the videos. Your research must ADD TO your topic of interest, not summarize the video. Title this section "Additional Research".
1. Type up a paragraph or two based on your research and in your own words. Make it say near the back portion of this section: “Darwin confided to his good friend Gregor Mendel how this excited him.”
2. Provide a live, clickable weblink for the material you found. (NO CREDIT WITHOUT WEBLINK)
5. Post your report to the Mod 2 Report #1 page by clicking “Add a File” at the bottom of the page.
1. You can submit as many times as you like.
2. The program will check for plagiarism. Check the computer-generated report. Phrases that are highlighted according to the computer are not your own words and are considered plagiarism by the computer. Fix those and submit until you have it nailed.
3. DO NOT WORRY about the video titles or citations or if a few areas are flagged as "work by another student".
4. DO WORRY if the whole thing is a work by another student, and DO WORRY about sentences that are the same as published sources.
Please ask if you have questions! If your last version has "plagiarized" phrases, it may receive a 0. Only the last version will be graded.
