Determine what your workplace’s or school’s policy is concerning one of the following health issues:
Sexual harassment
Drugs and alcohol
- Sick leave
- Create a 3-minute recorded speech (podcast) articulating a position either in favor of the policy or against the policy.
- Assume in your position statement that you are presenting your findings to the board of directors (or other decision-makers) at your workplace or school. Your position statement should:
Provide background information and discuss the status of the problem. What is the importance of this issue to health in your school or workplace? Who is affected by this problem?
Analyze the existing policy. To what extent does it effectively address the problem?
Describe your recommendations. Should the policy be kept as is, revised, and/or rewritten? What changes do you recommend to the existing policy and why?
