Family problems book presentation and trascript

Overview

Do a book presentation and a 6 minute worded transcript on the book Abusive endings: Separation and divorce violence against women by DeKeseredy, W.S., Dragiewicz, M. & Schwartz, M.D. (2017). A reflective book presentation is not a summary of the book. Instead, it is a presentation reflecting on the critical issues individuals and families face in the book. You will explain to the class how specific topics we covered in assigned class readings, lectures, media, etc. help explain or deepen your understanding of the topics covered in your book of choice.

This assignment aims to show that you can explain how the book you chose to read (Abusive Endings, The Broken Ladder, or Invisible Nation) is relevant to deepening your understanding of family stress and crisis. *Every person in the class has read one of the books. Please don’t summarize the book as your presentation!*

Final presentations should be 5-6 minutes in length and include specific examples from class materials.

  1. Reflective book presentations are to be completed in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  1. Reflective book presentations are to be submitted in BOTH .mp4 format AND Powerpoint or Google Slide format.
  1. Presentations are required to include audio presentation of your voice explaining the presentation. You may choose to include a video of yourself speaking.
  2. Presentations should be 5-6 minutes in length in total. DO NOT exceed the 6-minute limit!

Your presentation should

1). Include an introduction and conclusions

2). Include specific examples from course lectures and textbook readings (with both in-text citations and references in APA format).

You should cite a minimum of three sources from the class.

3). Explain what this book says about individuals, families, society, communities, resiliency, and family crisis, with thoughtful reflection relating your book of choice to other course material (IE: Lectures and the textbook).

4). Be organized with bullet points (not full paragraphs) and headings

5) Grades are based on quality and thoughtfulness of response, organization evidence of reflective thinking, spelling and grammar, and adherence to the guidelines presented in this explanation. A complete grading rubric is on Canvas.

**Your Presentation should use the template provided in the Reflective Book Presentation Outline and in the module. You can (and should!) edit your previously submitted outline**
