Prompt: This chapter reminds me of Antonia Castaneda's article on the colonial period which imposed a patriarchal regime on indigenous populations. In this chapter, Zavella uses the concept of structural vulnerability to speak of the contemporary issues facing women in various sites throughout the U.S. She uses the concept of "healing justice" and the way that organizations incorporate their specific cultural practices in their RJ work. Why is this healing work necessary even in contemporary times? And why is spirituality a type of "forward stance?" You may use a song, a poem to reflect on this.
