Overview
this is for my psychology field experience class. i work with kids at an after school program where we work on their reading and writing skill. some of these kids are from a lower socio-economic background and need a lot of help with their academic life. my team and i work with them every monday and play games and work on reading and writing. sometimes they don't like reading or just arent having the best day so we try to use candy as positive reinforcement, we tell them if they read a book they get 1 piece of candy and if they do the writing activity they get another and this continues if they keep reading and writing. this way they can learn while also getting a reward and are able to connect the 2. im a psych major with a minor in child development hoping to go into speech language pathology working with kids.
