Overview
We often think research is purely objective, but we, the researchers, are human and have experiences that influence our ways of knowing (epistemology), how we came to know it, what we are interested in researching, and how we choose to understand phenomena in the world. The purpose of this assignment is to begin to understand research by understanding your own experiences that have shaped your worldview and led you to your own research interests. In this assignment, you will write your autobiography and reflect on how aspects of your identity (in terms of race, class, gender, language, generational status, sexuality, ability status, etc.) influence your research interests.
