Part 1- Your text presents a detailed discussion on why human service professionals should be well-versed in the aspects of cultural diversity. In 2-paragraphs, discuss which of these reasons you find are the most important; additionally, discuss other reasons not mentioned in your text that you feel are important
Part 2- Your text lists the 9 assumptions that are commonly held in the United States about families and human services that lead to difficulties with integrating cultural diversity and family services. Under assumption #2 (pp. 177-180), your text discusses barriers that different cultural groups face. In 6 paragraphs, defend your beliefs and observations regarding each of the following barriers to equal opportunity:
- Marginalization
- Born Into Privilege
- Born Into Power
- Born Into Prejudice
- Poverty and Classism
- A “Typical” World
- Services for Diverse Families
Discussion Board Requirements:

Part 3- In 3-paragraphs, discuss the information presented under Assumption #6 (pp.184-186), concerning families that do not fit the stereotype of the nuclear family.
