Overview
For this assignment, you will select a program or a service at an agency and write a 1,200-2,000-word analysis of that program or service the agency provides.
In this topic, you will submit the rough draft of your paper. You will use the instructor feedback on your rough draft and revise it. And then you will submit the final draft in Topic 3.
Include the following in this rough draft of your paper:
- Explain the mission statement and values.
- Describe the programs and the services the agency provides. Do they advocate for human rights at the individual, family, group, organizational, and community system levels?
- Population
- Describe the population the agency serves.
- Describe the stakeholders and policies involved.
- Literature Review and Needs Assessment- After you conduct a literature review of five to seven scholarly sources, describe gaps in literature.
- Goals- Discuss the defined goals and scope of the program or service. Do they utilize culturally responsive, evidence-informed interventions to achieve client and constituency goals?
- Data Collection- Explain how social workers can gather data from targeted individuals.
- Analyze and Act- Explain how data results would impact the long term and short-term goals of the agency.
- Resources
- Discuss what resources the agency currently has in place.
- Explain how the resources are accessible.
- Explain what additional resources could be provided.
- Diversity
- Explain how they incorporate culturally responsive methods to negotiate, mediate, and advocate with for their clients and constituencies.
- Describe how diversity and inclusion are being provided.
- Recommend ways the agency program/services can improve in this area.
- Discuss the strengths of the program/services. Do they demonstrate anti-racist and anti-oppressive social work practice at the individual, family, group, organizational, community, research, and policy levels?
- Explain the challenges of the program/services.
- Provide recommendations for improving the program/services.
- Cite five to seven scholarly sources in your paper.
