solid waste management

Overview

please respond to Benjamin with 150. words

Hello Classmates and Professor, my name is Benjamin , I am an HSE Manager (Health Safety and Environmental) for Cardinal Industrial Services. Our services are mainly hydro cleaning, excavation, and Vac truck services for several industries with steel mills, power plants and chemical plants within the region. I am scheduled to complete my master’s in occupational safety and health/environmental management at the end of October. I am hoping to apply for a Doctorate Program after this. My ultimate goal is to be VP of Safety to try to make real change in the field.

Part 2

As we discuss the questions set forth to us, I will talk about both personal and professional. I live in an apartment complex that only provides waste containers for all trash, but my understanding that the contract with our complex and Waste Disposal company to separate solid waste and recycled waste. I have always questioned; how do you do this with everything all going in the same garbage bag. I dispose of solid waste either daily or at least every two days.

Now professional, we have two dumpsters at each of our locations and barrels for our chemical waste. We are required to separate all recyclables, solid waste and chemical waste and follow basic State laws and regulations. Part of our work is we excavate or vacuum water that has been exposed to various other chemicals and we must follow our customers’ Waste Policy which is stricter then State or Federal Regulations.

When it comes to composting this is not possible, living in an apartment complex this is not allowed and would be hard to properly maintain when unknown people would have access.

I wish you luck on this semester and hope to see you at graduation.
