the early nineteenth century America had experienced a lot of very transformative events that revealed a romantic spirit that was driven by imagination, emotion, and a belief in limitless possibility. The Lewis and Clark Expedition captured the unknown, and celebrated adventure and beauty of the natural world. Creating a fascination with untouched wilderness and the idea that the continent held endless mysteries waiting to be discovered such as animals, plants, etc.. Westward Expansion later pushed beyond familiar borders for a new beginning they brought up the idea of manifest destiny, it reflected a idealistic confidence that Americans were meant to explore, settle, and transform the world. While all of that was happening, the Second Great Awakening showed emotional intensity through religious beliefs and experiences, moral renewal, and the possibility of individual and societal transformation . Even the Jacksonian democracy had romantic ideals by celebrating the power and potential of the common man trying to enforce the idea that ordinary individuals can make a great impact and influence the nations future.
