Hello everyone!
My name is Victoria Pewterbaugh and I am 19 year olds. I just finished my first year of college, and I plan to further my education by going to a 4 year university after getting my associates.
I plan to get my associates in Fine Arts. After transferring to a 4 year university, I plan to major in Theater. Alongside this I plan to double major in Education.
In this class, I expect to learn about film history, fundamentals, and expectations of what might change in the future. I expect that the class will also likely teach me facts about films that I had not caught before. Overall I can see my appreciation of film growing from this course.
Given my major is in Fine Arts, I have taken other arts class here at VVC. My favorite one being a theater history course I took. It was really interactive and my professor presented all information in a consumable, and fun manner.
My favorite movie is without a doubt Avatar (not the last airbender). The Avatar series as a whole is my all time favorite movie series. The first film is my favorite singular movie because of how revolutionary it was in CGI advancement for its time and how it still holds up today. The world is immersive, and I love the thought and care that went into the creatures and culture of the Avatar world. James Cameron did a phenomenal job showing how humans can have a horrible effect on nature using his own made up planet to emphasize the scale of destruction humans can cause.
