Hello everyone,
My name is Celeste Samora. I am taking this course as part of my requirements to achieve my Associate's in Business Administration, and because I am interested in learning more about the ocean. After this course, I plan on continuing my education. It will also be closer to the holidays, so I look forward to celebrating holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Yes, I am currently working full-time, and I also have a part-time job that is very flexible, so attending school and work isn't too much of a stress overload for me. Currently, I do not have to care for anyone besides my pet Doberman. I spend a lot of time with my pet, and I often do work on my laptop with my pet by my side.
This semester, I am taking three other courses: two business classes and an economics class. I would consider my computer skills to be intermediate. I am able to operate a computer using basic skills; however, I am aware that there are people who are able to do so much more with their computer skills.
I have taken three other online classes in the past. I like taking online classes because of the convenience of learning without having to take time out of my week to commute to campus. As much as I would love to attend college full-time and on campus, it is not something that is convenient for me at the moment.
Canvas and Zoom are very familiar to me. I have been using both since COVID, and I have gotten used to the way that both platforms work. For this class, I am using my new MacBook Neo. I just purchased it at the end of my spring term, and it has been easier for me to study, do my homework, and review modules on Canvas. My last laptop was extremely outdated, passed down, and would often run slowly, so being able to upgrade has been a true blessing.
By the end of this course, I plan on being more educated about the ocean. A fun fact about me is that I often visit the beach. The wildlife, sea life, and clear water are the highlights of my trips to the beach.
Based on my results from the VARK questionnaire, I am VAK integrative. This means that I prefer to learn with discussions, graphs and diagrams rather than reading. It also says that I like listening and talking about information. To me, my results are accurate and pretty spot on because I do struggle with focusing while trying to read, especially when reading text
