Part 1: Without looking it up in our book or online, discuss your opinion about crime in the United States. Consider the following questions:

1. Are crime rates in the United States the highest today that they have ever been?
2. Are they going up or down?
3. What factors contribute to the fluctuations in crime?
4. Discussion Post Expectations:
   • In your initial post, be sure to answer the questions fully. Strive for a minimum 200 words and not more than 300 words. You are not expected to write mini-essays or monologues, just to back up your examples and opinions with sufficient evidence that your reader will believe in what you say.
