Overview
My summary of opinion - Issues pertaining to labor force and union rights merit consideration and support, particularly when it comes to promoting the rights of performers in the entertainment sector. A just and equitable industry must provide actors fair pay, secure working conditions, and collective bargaining power.
For this assignment, you will be required to write a short (~5-page, double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, 1 inch-margins, .doc or .pdf) op/ed piece on a contemporary work-related issue of your choice. Op/eds should state a clear opinion on a SINGLE issue, and support that opinion using materials from the course and from outside research. You will also be expected to use concrete examples to support your claims. Think about what might be a counter argument that you could refute.Your final op/ed will be graded based on how convincing your argument is and how well it reflects your understanding of the course materials. It should contain a minimum of 8 academic sources, at least 3 of which must come from within the course material, and 3 of which must come from outside research.
