Overview

1. At some point in our lives we have all been in a situation where we have been pressured to do something or to act a certain way as to not stand out or conform to the group standard. Think about a situation in the past or recently where you were asked or expected (even if that expectation was subtle) to conform to group pressure. In your journal post, write 200-300 words in which you answer all of the following:
   1. What were you asked or expected to do?
   2. How exactly were you pressured and why did you give in?
   3. How difficult would it have been to go against the norm (and not give in)? Be specific.
   4. What would it take for you to not do something just because all your friends were doing it? (relate this to the social forces in your life that have helped influence your decisions)
