Overview
Here is additional guidance for the subculture paper. Everyone should have their topics and a good "head start" for the final draft based on your work from the first assignment. You may use everything you prepared on the first assignment for the final draft, which includes the definition of culture and subculture, all sources gathered, and why you chose the topic/why it was interesting to you.
1) 5-7 pages
2) Minimum of twelve sources/ three sources must be primary sources
3) APA style, or the style you use for your major.
4) Compare/ Contrast (mostly contrast because we are researching subcultures) your topic to mainstream American Society in the areas of :
a) Language/ gestures
b) Beliefs
c) Values
d) Norms
e) Behavior
At least four of the five areas must be addressed in your paper. If you cannot find sources in one particular area, simply compare /contrast Mainstream American culture with your topic in your own words.
