Overview
Discuss a social problem (police violence) and pick an article of your choice from a credible new source (CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, etc.) while discussing apply one sociological feminist criminological theory.
in addition to using the article of your choice i have included 3 pdf articles you must use and cite.
include the following and each section labeled accordingly:
- Introduction: A brief introduction to the paper (what the reader will expect to learn). (1 paragraph)
- Social problem: Describe your article (provide link in reference page). How prevalent is the social problem? (2 paragraphs)
- Impact on women: How are women impacted by it? Describe and discuss who is harmed and who benefits from the social problem you chose, and in what ways? Types of criminalization? Is there a disproportionate impact based on race, class, gender, sexuality etc? (2-3 paragraphs)
- Theory: Describe and apply the theory you chose to the social problem. Be sure to identify the founding theorist. (2 paragraphs).
- Policy Recommendation(s) : Discuss how we might implement policies or solutions to address the issue. (1 paragraph).
- Conclusion: Summarize your arguments and tie back to your introduction paragraph. (1 paragraph).
