You will be writing a comprehensive literature review presenting and discussing previous research on a chosen topic within the realm of DEI in international higher education. Length: At least 15 pages (letter size, double spaced, Times New Roman, font size 12.) Format: Strictly follow APA format and style requirements including a title page in APA style.

should include the following components: A brief overview (like an abstract) Introduction (providing background information about the topic, talking about the relevance of the topic, and importance of the literature review, etc.) Research questions (what questions your literature review is trying to answer). Methodology (search query, eligibility criteria, study selection, data description, i.e. illustrating how you found literature, what databases you used, criteria you used to include and exclude certain studies, how many studies in total you reviewed, etc.) (optional) Theories or theoretical frameworks you used for writing the literature review. Findings (major themes/patterns identified, same as in your synthesis matrix. Please identify and elaborate each theme (or selected themes if you have more than four). Discussion (illustrating the gaps and/or shortcoming in the literature you have identified. Answering the research questions in item #3. Implication (i.e. suggestions regarding what and how future research on the topic should focus on, etc.)

literature review topic: The chosen topic, "The Future of the U.S. Safety & Health Workforce: Opportunities

for Academic Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Through a Leak-Proof Career Pathway," . Firstly, it addresses the critical need for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the realm of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) education and the broader STEM fields. Given the projected demographic shifts towards a majority-minority population in the United States, ensuring equitable access to education and career opportunities in OSH is not just a matter of social justice but also economic necessity and national security. This topic also explores the potential of the Accessibility, Sustainability, and Knowledge-Generation (ASK) framework to dismantle barriers and promote diversity, which could offer valuable insights for broader applications within STEM education. Research Databases and Literature Sources:To conduct a thorough literature review on this topic, I plan to use several academic databases and resources that are known for their extensive collections of research papers, articles, and academic publications. These include: PubMed and Scopus for health and safety-related literature, ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) for education-focused research Keywords/Search Terms:"occupational safety and health equity,""diversity in STEM,""underrepresented minorities in OSH,""career pathways in safety and health,""academic diversity in STEM,""equity and inclusion in OSH education,""ASK framework in OSH." Literature Search Strategies:In the event that literature on the topic is scarce, several strategies will be employed to ensure a comprehensive review: Broadening the Search: Expand the search to include broader terms related to DEI in STEM fields, not limited to OSH, to gather insights that could be applied to the specific context of safety and health workforce.

Citation Chasing: Use the reference lists of highly relevant articles to find additional sources and conduct a cited reference search to see who has cited these key articles, potentially uncovering newer research on the topic.Cross-disciplinary Searches: Given the interdisciplinary nature of the topic, exploring literature from the fields of education, public health, sociology, and workforce development could yield valuable perspectives and data. Utilizing Literature: Look for reports, white papers, conference proceedings, and policy documents from reputable organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions that might not be published in academic journals but provide crucial insights into the topic. Reaching out to authors of key studies and experts in the field for recommendations on further reading or unpublished works that could provide additional insights.Social Media and Professional Networks: Leverage academic and professional networks on platforms like LinkedIn, ResearchGate, and Twitter to discover recent publications or ongoing research in the field
