In the readings for Classes #5-7, several articles take up the physical, social, and mental health realities of working in the criminal justice system, whether that be in policing, corrections, or law.
Engaging these readings, and knowing some of the ‘risks’ inherent to professions in the criminal justice system, what steps (if any) would you take to prepare for entry into a career in justice? Second, do these readings complicate your understanding of what it is like to work in the criminal justice system? Why or why not?
