Constant Comparative Method
As we have learned, qualitative analysis is inductive, and begins by gathering data then proceeds to analyze the observations, looking for patterns. These patterns are called aspects. Once a social scientist locates aspects, using Glaser and Strauss' (1967) Constant Comparative Method, the scientist then determines what the aspects mean. This process is framing by case, then framing by aspect.
Both scientific articles we read use induction and frame by aspect and then by case.
