Overview
Watch:
1. In the very beginning of our semester, during lesson 2, I asked you about whether you thought the American Dream was dead. At this point in the semester, Has your position changed or stayed the same?Explain.
2. Given that we are in an election year (and are likely voting in the coming week or days), you may have heard that you should vote for those who will benefit you, economically speaking. In regards to local, state, and federal government, do you know who to contact to inquire about their economic policies? Have you ever contacted government elected officials to inquire about economic policies? If so, what was the response? If not - that is completely fine too! I would wager that more than half of the (voting age) class has not done this but rather rely on party lines to make decisions (or use other factors, based on ideology, to make voting decisions). How can we really address economic inequality, as an individual if we aren't advocating for it with our local, state, and federal officials?
3. If you were to contact a government official about the economy, what would you say? What needs to be addressed? Wages? The increase of automation reducing jobs? Tax codes? (just a few ideas).
Please be respectful and please do not advocate for various political officials (I will have to remove those posts) - save that for social media and/or the voting box Please no AI generated answer’s.
