Overview
You will be coding three separate interviews using "in vivo" coding and "descriptive" coding methods to find commonalities between the three interviews. Organize sentences/quotes in logical way, find commonalities, find links across data. Read interview transcripts line by line, find key words and phrases. Explain the way they're linked and the commonalities.
Highlight, underline, attribute phrases to commonalities
- Ex: went hungry, correlates to access of resources
You will also create interview notes for each interview. For this part, jot down 6-8 "notes" that you could associate with each interviewee. This is to be separate from the coding. For this you can just make some stuff up about the person being interviewed. For example, one note would be, "Interviewee sounded unsure of some of their answers" or "Interviewee had a strong liberal mindest".
