- Review the learning materials from this week that relate to consumer advocacy in healthcare. Perhaps the most helpful resource is: Impact! How Consumers Have Shaped Health System Delivery Reform
- Choose any health or health equity issue that you would like to research, and identify a consumer advocacy group that addresses it. (Some suggestions include groups of people who suffer from particular health conditions or disabilities, associations like the AARP that represent age cohorts, geographically-defined health advocacy groups, etc.)
- Write a succinct briefing of 400–550 words that describes the health or health equity issue, names the consumer advocacy group that addresses it, describes a recent action or lobbying effort the group has done, and explains whether the group has yet been successful in influencing policy on the issue.
