Overview
In this final personal experience assignment, you will use the Dramaturgical Analysis to describe the way you managed your impression in any social situation with others. Recall from prior chapters and videos that this theory uses the metaphor of front and back stage behaviors for managing the impressions that other people have of you in a social situation. Pick a new kind of social situation, other than the ones we've already discussed like a job application, a first date, or a play on a stage. Pick a real interaction with others from your everyday life. Or you might pick one that involves interaction on the internet as well.
Begin with 1-2 paragraphs about the experience. Then dissect the interaction, drawing from the Dramaturgical Analysis. Finally, finish with a conclusion about what you learned from this exercise.
Sources:
No outside sources are needed for this assignment. If you decide to cite something anyway, do it properly using APA style. When you paraphrase, try reading the original text and then putting it aside before you write something about it, and use as many of your own words as you can. Then cite it. Any phrases or complete sentences from outside sources should be placed in quotations. Turnitin.com is used to scan the document for plagiarism and use of AI.
Guidance:
Length: 750-1,000 words. You might choose to draft the paper in Word or Google Docs. It should come to 3-4 double-spaced pages.
Form: Use proper grammar, spelling, and paragraph form. Good paragraphs begin with an opening. Then they feature a body of evidence or a supporting argument in the next few sentences. They end with a concluding sentence, and sometimes a transition to the next paragraph
