In the context of Adaptive Leadership, leaders can motivate their followers to change by challenging them, encouraging them, or even regulating them. They are able to do this by identifying adaptive challenges, encouraging followers to take ownership of problems, and keeping stress at manageable levels for their followers. While a leader is adapting to change, it is just as important for a leader to help their followers change alongside them. While managing stress and providing support, they create an environment that promotes learning, flexibility, and resilience. As a result, adaptive leaders not only adjust to change themselves but also help their followers grow and adapt in turn.
