Overview
This project will involve comparing and contrasting Comte, Marx and Durkheim to a short (up to 30 minutes) video/DVD of your choice.
Directions
For this project, you must write a 2-3 page double-spaced analysis of a video. You need to:
- Identify a video/DVD (from YouTube or elsewhere, like the Films on Demand database in the ELAC Library, you will have to login)
- Provide a short summary (no more than half a page) of the video/DVD (What is the video about? Clarity is important!)
- Separately, explain how Comte, Marx and Durkheim would view – interpret your video/DVD. Thoroughly explain using sociological concepts/terms. You may write as much as possible. This should also be the longest portion (body paragraphs) of your paper.
- Your concluding paragraph should discuss which theory is most represented in your video/DVD? Explain.
- Please post your final document with all the above information included.
How to Submit Your Project
You will submit your work here in the TURN IT IN system as a Word 97-2003, .docx or other wordprocessing file.
- In the dialog box below click on the blue "Upload Submission" button
- The "Upload submission" will allow you to submit your assignment through the Turn It In system
