Gender inequality in pay is not fully justified, and the videos explain that while some differences are from economic structures others are due to systemic biases. For example, the women's soccer team received lower pay and worse working conditions despite the fact that they had been outpreforming the mens team. The differences in pay in the case are due to biases and gender discrimination. On the other hand, the argument can be made that occupation choices and breaks in career can also play a role in women being paid less. Although this argument holds some validity, societal expectations play a role in women making the choice to take a leave of absence or to not choose male dominated fields. Equal pay is achievable when organizations have intentionality with the way that they structure pay. Overall, while I believe there are some fair arguments for the disparity in income, I do not believe it is justified.

“Gender inequality in pay has been a perennial problem for women in the workplace. Women in America are paid at an average of $0.82 to $1.00 for their male counterparts. The US Women Soccer team sued to receive equal pay and benefits on par with the US Men Soccer team. Is this disparity in income justified? Look at the following videos and comment.”
