Overview

The primary readings from this course need to be read carefully and an 800-900 word primarily critical, and reflexively personal, summary will be required by 11:59PM on the following dates: Rosa, Uncontrollability of the World (April 17); Norgaard, Salmon and Acorns (May 22). The summary should clearly present the aim of the book, and then analyze the argument of the book for its merits and relevance to critical environmental studies today (and environmental sociology) today, along with a personal component. It should have a brief Introduction, Body, and a brief Conclusion, with page numbers.

And by Wednesday the following week (of each), you will respond briefly (100-150 words) to two other students’ essays. A program called TurnItIn will check your paper for evidence of plagiarism.
