Overview
We have discussed the importance of mission statements for nonprofits. Now I want you to craft your own personal leadership mission statement. Everyone is a leader in come capacity, and having a clear picture of what that looks like for you is important. You may use the guidance below (based in part) on Tomorrow University's online blog at https://www.tomorrow.university/blog/5-examples-of-personal-mission-statements-to-inspire-your-own
You may also refer to our other presentations on core values and leadership styles, as well as the content covered in LinkedIn.
Follow these steps to craft your statement:
- Define your values – What do you care about most?
- Identify your strengths – What skills or qualities set you apart?
- Consider your impact – Who or what do you want to influence?
- How do you view leadership?
- What type of leader do you see yourself as, or what type do you aspire to be?
