Annotated Bibliography

For this portion, your will need to find at least five academic sources relevant to the class research topic. The sources need to be peer-reviewed journal articles or books.

When I say "class topic" I mean the quantitative results in the Final Paper Materials folder. See the Code Book for topics that are in the data. For example, these include: food insecurity, housing insecurity, sense of belonging, and time management. The data is from Lander students and specifically about the college experience.

Note: This assignment requires you to go beyond the abstract. Simply re-writing the points contained in the article's abstract or asking an AI to summarize for you will not earn you full credit.

Each of these sources should be annotated with approximately 150-200 words. That is, they need to be turned in as a full-length citation with a short summary. All together, this assignment will probably be about 700-1,000 words when you turn it in, not counting the text of the citations. It is the starting point for the longer and more in-depth analysis you will turn in at the end. Submit your assignment as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file.

See examples of annotated bibliography references attached below.

What should your Annotated Bibliography be about? This is up to you, within some boundaries. Later in the semester, we'll be looking over some survey results that will also become part of the final paper, and the questions on the survey are contained in the Code Book document under Final Paper Materials in Blackboard. These are real data from Lander students, from a survey I did with last fall's section of this course.

Go check that out and look over the questions in there - pick one topic contained among those questions to focus your Annotated Bibliography on. For example, there are questions on: food insecurity, housing insecurity, time management, loneliness, and belonging.
