Overview
- Select two sociologists to research. In the textbook chapter the author mentions some of the most notable figures in sociology, such as W.E.B Du Bois, Emile Durkheim, Jane Addams, Karl Marx, George Herbert Mead, and Harriet Martineau...just to name a few. Make sure to choose theorists that were mentioned in the linked chapter.
- Once you have made your selection, conduct online research to answer the following questions in your own words:
- Investigate the background/lifestyle of the sociologist and provide any other crucial biographical information.
- Research their contributions to the field of sociology, such as significant publications, theories, or ideas that have been attributed to them.
- How are their theories or ideas applicable in our modern society?
- Include the web address of the websites where you found the information for each question at the very end of your paper.
NOTE: Dedicate at least 3 paragraphs to each theorist. In other words you can answer the questions in 3 well-formed paragraphs for each theorist, making your final submission 6 paragraphs total.
