Overview
Creating a PowerPointPresentation
(whatever floats your boat, just make sure its organized)
Will be doing four different hypothesis testing
One-Sample
- Two-Sample
- ANOVA Test
- Linear Regression
- ONE-SAMPLE TEST
Data Set
- Needs to be 20 samples of your choice.
You can create your own samples if you would like to experiment or choose one that you find interesting like sports stats or the population of dogs in certain cities.
Explain why you decided to choose this set.
- Need to create your own hypothesis test
- Need to determine your level of significance 90%, 95% or 99%
- ONE SAMPLE TEST
Need to have these calculations in the PowerPoint
- 1. Mean
1. Mode
2. Median
3. Variance
Standard Deviation
Critical Value (determine if need z or t value)
- ONE-SAMPLE TEST
- Test Your Data
Will you reject or not reject your null.
- Interpret what the results mean
- Can be ane sentence or a paragraph
- TWO-SAMPLE TEST
- 2-Data Sets
Needs to be 20 samples of your choice for each.
You can create your own samples if you would like to experiment or choose one that you find interesting like sports stats or the population of dogs in certain cities.
Use previous set from one-sample test
Keep data sets independent from each other
Explain why you decided to compare the two.
Need to create your own Hypothesis Test
Need to determine your level of significance 90%, 95%, or 99%
- TWO-SAMPLE TEST
- Calculate your critical value of your test data
Should use the same test as you did for one sample (either z or t test)
Test Your Data
- Will you reject or not reject your null
Interpret what the results mean
- Can be one sentence or a paragraph
ANOVA TEST
- -Data Set-
This will be 3 or more treatment data set.
Size will be up to you but try to have close to 10 per data set.
Explain why you are using these data sets.
Need to create your own Hypothesis Test
Need to determine your level of significance 90%, 95%, or 99%
ANOVA TEST
Calculate your critical value of your test data
ANOVAs use only F-distribution
ANOVA Table needs to be in your presentation
Test Your Data
- Will you reject or not reject your null
- Interpret what the results mean
- Can be one sentence or a paragraph
- LINEAR REGRESSION
- Needs to be 20 samples of your choice for each.
- You can create your own samples if you would like to experiment or choose one that you find interesting like sports stats or the population of dogs in certain cities.
One Data set needs to be dependent (Example: Copiers Sold depends on the number of sales calls made)
- Explain why you decided to compare the two.
LINEAR REGRESSION
- Must need!
- To have these calculations in the PowerPoint
General Form of Linear Regression
Slope
Y-Intercept
- To create your own Hypothesis Test
- To determine your level of significance 90%, 95%, or 99%
- LINEAR REGRESSION
- Calculate your critical value of your test data
- Linear Regression will be using the t-value
Calculate the Test for the Slope
Will you reject or not reject your null
- Interpret what the results mean
Can be one sentence or a paragraph
