Overview
This assignment entitled “Methods Canvas Assignment 1” covers several things, but it was written for a specific dataset named “Assignment One Data.sav” that should be downloaded to your computer drive course folder. Note that that you can easily adapt these instructions when you download your own datasets for use when working on your semester project (this will be discussed later).
Further note that the Assignment One Data.sav file was originally downloaded from the Pew Research Center For The People & The Press data archive. It is actually the following survey: “May 2008 Political and Believability Survey: More See America’s Loss of Global Respect as Major Problem; Majority of Republicans Say U.S. Is Less Respected”. This is now renamed “Assignment One Data.sav” and throughout much of the course, you will be using this dataset, so remember to always continuously backup everything on your flash drive by saving as different filenames with new dates i.e. Assignment One Data [date].sav or Assignment 4 Data [date].sav.
