linear regression task (use R to analysis)

Overview

  • The report must be written using R Markdown.
  • The maximum word count for this report is 3,000 words. This is a hard limit and not a target.
    • The word limit is based on both tasks combined.
    • You can choose how many words you allocate to each task, but bear in mind that Task 1 makes up a larger proportion of the marks.
    • You should indicate at the end of your report the total number of words used.
    • Captions for any tables/plots do not contribute to the word count, however excessively long captions will be penalised under ‘clarity’.
    • Your code (which will usually be hidden from the report anyway) and any R output (e.g., plot labels and model summaries) also do not contribute to your word count.
    • If you need to use references, these don’t count toward your word count.
  • You must submit a pdf copy of the completed report only.
  • You can either use the associated .Rmd template, or create your own.
  • If you choose to create your own .Rmd file, the following need to be present in the header of your document (see the template for an example):
    • Group number;
    • Student numbers of all students in the group.
  • Make sure that you think about the structure of your report and that this is clear (it is a good idea to use suitable headings in your report).
  • You should also make sure that sections within each task follow on from the previous ones in a logical way.
  • Please use echo=FALSE when preparing your final submission, unless you think that a particular piece of code is useful for the intended audience to see. I don’t need to see your code in the pdf document, but I do want to see relevant output. Reports containing excessive code are not clear, and would therefore be penalised under clarity.
