STA HW 1

Overview

STA200 Statistics Homework 1 This homework is based on Chapter 1. In this homework you are going to prepare a random sample. Remember that in Statistics you are taking decisions on a population, based on the sample you took. It is impossible to survey the whole population (imaging that you are surveying the political preferences for the next election in your County, you cannot go house per house, apartment by apartment, instead, you take a sample, then, from the sample, you said “In My County, the winner is going to be Mr. Popeys”). The idea is to learn how to take a random sample, using a small sample size. Ok. This is the project. Suppose that you want to start a small business selling T-shirts. You are interested in what color people prefer. You prepare seven cards with seven different colors (White, Black, Blue, Pink, Green, Yellow, and Red). Next, you want a sample of size 30, then you start walking around your county, and randomly you are getting the first 30 selections. You show the 7 cards to a person and ask for their favorite color. Then you write the answer. The data that you are collected, you are going to use for the Homework of Week 2. Upload the Excel table for grading, explaining the way you got the Excel data.
