Group Project #1: The Importance of Descriptive Analysis- ONLY THE WRITTEN PART OF THIS PROJECT (Data already done)

Overview

NOTE: MY group has already completed the output data file and got all of our data for this project. Only thing we need help with is the WRITTEN PORTION of this project please. I have attached an example of exactly how my professor wants us to do the written portion. I have also attached the instructions to the assignment. I have also attached the SPSS output file that you would need to refer to, to complete this written portion. I also attached the document that my group already started. This document HIGHLIGHTS the health equity-related question that can be answered with our MTF dataset. THIS WAS STEP 1. My group basically already did step 2 as well which was identifying and recoding the variables in the dataset that we will use to answer our chosen question. I would START OFF by looking at the example that my professor has provided and make a WHOLE NEW document and put the health equity-related question at the top (step 1), and then identify the recoded variables (Step 2). AND THEN STEPS 3, 4, and 5. DONT WORRY about steps 6 and 7! Those are my part. SO basically all youre doing is steps 3, 4, and 5 based off of steps 1 and 2 that my group already completed and based off the SPSS output file as well!

Group Project 1: The Importance of Descriptive Statistics

As you’ve learned in class, descriptive statistics are used to describe and summarize the visible characteristics of a population or sample.

For this group assignment, you will use univariate and bivariate descriptive statistics to describe and summarize features of the Monitoring the Future: A continuing Study of American Youth (12th-Grade Survery) 2019 - https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/web/ICPSR/studies/37841# - dataset DS001 (“DS1: Core Data” in the MTF codebook [PDF]).

In prior weeks, you have been introduced to this dataset, the codebook, examining recoding variables, and organizing, summarizing, and presenting data (e.g., tables, graphs, and crosstabs). You are now ready to use your learnings to complete this assignment.

The group assignment portion (Steps 1-6) is worth 175 points -- your group will submit one document for the entire group within this assignment link. Please ALSO attach or submit your SPSS output ! Be sure to look at the rubric before submission to make sure you have addressed all criteria.

The peer review/evaluation for each group member (Step 7) is worth 25 points. Each group member will submit an evaluation of their fellow group members using a separate, individual form. We will calculate each group member's total earned points (out of 25) based on their fellow member's ratings.

These will be added together to account for 20% of your final grade.
