Project Part 2 Creating a Frequency Distribution.

Overview

Project Part 2: Frequency Distribution
1) Using the 35 values you created for Project Part 1, you will create a Frequency Distribution of 10 classes.
If you did not collect the 35 values yet, review Project Part 1 and the Data Sets for Project Parts and the Semester Project page, and collect them now.
Download and use the Template Download Templatefor the Frequency Table, you can copy your work from the slide and paste it into the text submission area and it will keep the table formatting.
2) Calculate your class width using your , if you get a decimal go up to the next whole number.
Using the example from the Data Sets, Quinn's maximum is 524, and their minimum is 5, so . They will use 52 for the class width.
3) Find your Lower Bounds, and enter them into the Table
Your First Lower Bound will be your minimum.
Quinn's first class will start at 5.
Your Second Lower Bound will be your first Lower Bound + class width, continue finding your Lower Bounds in this manner.
Since Quinn started at 5 and used a class width of 52, their second class will start at 5 + 52 = 57.
4) Find your Upper Bounds, and enter into the Table
Your First Upper Bound will be your second Lower Bound minus 1.
Quinn's first Upper Bound will be 57 - 1 = 56, so their first class will go from 5 - 56.
The Second Upper Bound will be your first Upper Bound + class width, continue finding your upper bounds in this manner.
Quinn's second Upper Bound will be 56 + 52 = 108, and their second class will go from 57 - 108.
5) Enter the Frequency for each class.
6) Find the Relative Frequency and round all decimals to 4 places as needed, no fractions.
Recommend using the TI-84 List features
7) Write at least 2 quality sentences explaining:
A) In your own words explain what you did to fill in each column of the table.
B) What does the table reveal about your data that you didn’t know before organizing it into a table?

When working on each part of the Semester Project the Best Practice is to type the information onto the appropriate slide of the Template Download Template, remove the directions, and then copy and paste your work and results into the text submission area of the assignment.

You may submit the project part as a text submission, Word Document, or PowerPoint Slide from the Template (only that slide!) Do not submit your work as an embedded image in one of those files. Images cannot be accepted for these assignments. (File Types allowed: .doc, .docx, .ppt., .pptx)
