Overview
Health professionals across disciplines must be able to analyze and use data to address health concerns among the populations they serve. They must identify trends, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for improving health outcomes based on solid evidence. They must also communicate that information effectively to those who are impacted. They must recognize the strengths and limitations of the research that others in their field are doing. They should understand how that research affects their own organization, even if they do not intend to become statisticians.
For the Final Project Article Review, you will analyze two published articles that focus on the same health topic and present your results in an article review. In one of the articles, you will examine the biostatistical methods used to address the broad health questions. Then, you will compare the biostatistical methods used in both studies and draw conclusions about the strengths and weaknesses of the research and how it was presented.
This article review assignment asks you to select the articles you will review from the Final Project Articles List in the Supporting Materials section and explain your interest in these studies. You will begin to consider how and why the research was done.
