Part ➋ Design 5 options for ONE cover – Feb. 29th (this is 2 weeks; my expectations will be high) Based on feedback from Part 1, make 5 design options for the first book in your series (distinct ideas, not variations on one design theme). As you work on the options, think about how the design decisions you make could be applied to the other books in the series. How can they be designed to form a series that feels cohesive while also leaving room for each one to function on its own? Also consider: who is your intended audience for this series? How can your cover art speak to them? Add an additional page including your curatorial statement (what are the four books in your series, how are they connected, and list 5 possible names for your series). ⬛ Export a PDF with your 5 options and curatorial statement. Upload to the assignment in Blackboard ⬛ Remember to follow naming convention: ART3050-FirstLast-Project1-Part2.pdf ART 3050 Publication Design Professor John Wegner 3 Part ➌ Design a complete series of 4 covers – Due: Mar 7th Based on feedback from Part 2, finalize the design for your first cover and apply the design system to the other 3 books in your series. Make sure you have set up and are using margins & grids to create consistency in your layout. ⬛ Export a PDF with all 4 covers as separate pages. Upload to the assignment in Blackboard ⬛ Remember to follow naming convention: ART3050-FirstLast-Project1-Part3.pdf ⬛ Have full size color prints of your complete series ready to pin up for critique at the beginning of class _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Part ➍ Refine – Due: Mar 14th Based on feedback from crit on Part 3, make any final revisions to perfect your series of book covers. Set up and use character styles and make sure they are applied properly across the series. ⬛ Export a PDF with all 4 covers as separate pages ⬛ Write a 150–200 word statement/description ⬛ Upload to the assignment in Blackboard ⬛ Also submit your packaged INDD folder to your project submission folder (Dropbox). Make sure to include all fonts, links, etc. so I can inspect your working files. If I can't access your art I can't grade your work!
