Art Question

Overview

In this paper (1000-1250 words) you will craft a compelling argument that is clear and well-supported to communicate why your proposed alternative is viable. In the introduction section of the paper, first re-articulate why the current practice is unsustainable by including a 1-2 paragraph summary of the main argument from your first paper. Second, draw from your second paper to summarize in 1-2 paragraphs the overall tensions that arise when you consider the 4 types of sustainability as well the various perspectives of multiple stakeholders when negotiating the transition to an alternative practice. In the body of this paper, build an argument—using the criteria for sustainability or the vision you created at the end of your first paper about what an alternative should look like—to craft a convincing argument for the best (just one or some combination of practices implemented simultaneously) alternative practice that is available at this time (or describe in detail one new alternative that you have innovated based upon your research). Describe the new practice in detail. Take care to demonstrate how the new practice is more sustainable—considering the 4 types of sustainability—than the current practice. Also, argue for why this practice may have the best chance of being adopted given the often-competing interests of multiple stakeholders. Finally, include any steps that may need to be taken to educate the public about the benefits of this new alternative, and what new laws or policies that might need to be adopted. In the conclusion of the paper, re-articulate a concise version of the overall argument you outlined in the paper.

Your paper should include:

A clear topic paragraph with the purpose of the paper clearly stated. Each paragraph of the body of the paper should include a topic sentence, argument/description, and a conclusion/summary of the point you are making. The final paragraph of the paper should re-articulate the purpose in a way that offers a final or conclusive argument and makes the takeaways clear to the reader.

A clear and well-supported argument (inclusive of a series of shorter arguments), made in a manner that will resonate with and reach a diverse group of people with disparate worldviews.

  • Arguments that are respectful, educative, and avoid scare tactics.
  • High-quality sources that are cited to back up each claim and are referenced in a way that builds trustworthiness with the reader.
  • Evidence: The author writes in a professional style using APA guidelines in a manner appropriate for a scholarly paper.
  • Grammar: The rules of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation are demonstrated at a very professional level. Sentences are complete and well-constructed and mistakes of subject-verb agreement, including inconsistency between pronouns and their antecedents, are avoided. Sophistication is apparent throughout.

Organization: The document is very well organized. A fully developed introduction, body, and conclusion are provided and the flow of ideas is logical.
