Training Plan

The purpose of this assignment is to assess your understanding of hazard mitigation strategies. By completing this assignment, you will demonstrate competencies associated with identifying and proposing recommendations to improve hazard mitigation strategies for local emergency response agencies.

As the assistant director of emergency management for your hometown, you have been given the task by the newly elected county commission to propose a hazard mitigation awareness program that can be placed on the county public-safety training website. It is the goal of the commissioners to assure that all county agencies, and especially first responders and code-enforcement officials, have an awareness of what hazard-mitigation strategies can be employed in new land-development projects and construction to mitigate the local natural and human-made hazards.

You are to propose a training plan utilizing 10 PowerPoint slides that includes the following:

• Recommendations of four hazard mitigation strategies for local emergency response agencies. Compare the components of each.
• Target audience description
• Issues to be addressed
• Media type and format to be utilized
• Feedback/evaluation format for the training
• Implementation plan for the program
