Overview
Your final report should consist of 1,000 to 1,250 words ( 4 - 5 pages), excluding bibliography or any appendices.
Before you start writing, pls review some example sovereign credit rating reports from Fitch on canvas. You will see how Fitch discusses country economics, finance, politics, etc., as a credit factors. Some of these are favorable, some of these are unfavorable, some are neutral.
Feel free to use updated and edited information from your prior two deliverables as inputs for the final country business risk assessment.
What should be included:
- The final report should start with an investment recommendation and a brief rationale. Recommendation can be: favorable, neutral, or unfavorable. Then list the key factors that contribute to this recommendation. Remember, you are writing from the POV of an American investor considering your country as a target country for investment.
- Use the rest of your report as info to substantiate your investment recommendation: geopolitical location, politics, belonging to trade groups, trade and risk exposure to the Hormuz channel, etc., economic and financial trends, demographics, etc. Include the map and the demographic pyramid, pls other graphs, as needed, preferably in the appendix. Cite sources for all graphs. Make format nice and consistent. Proofread.
- Observe how Fitch reports give a forward indication of what factor(s) may lead to the credit recommendation improving or worsening (scenario planning). In a similar fashion, I would like for you to make two predictions in conclusion of your report: 1) a prediction regarding the factors that could, individually or collectively, lead to an improved investment recommendation; and 2) a prediction regarding the factors that could, individually or collectively, lead to a downgrade of the investment recommendation. Think these through. These would likely correspond to the risks you mentioned in your economic/demographic module. These are all external factors that managers have no control over.
- Refer to your investment recommendation - favorable, neutral, or unfavorable - and the factors driving it. Give three (3) recommendations to managers how to mitigate the current risks or take advantage of current opportunities you have identified in your report. These are risks that the firm should be able to manage/mitigate as opposed to external risks managers cannot mitigate. Being prepared for the possibility of unfavorable scenarios is a management strategy. So if there are some scenarios that are likely to drive the recommendation up or down, you want to discuss in this paragraph how managers may proactively prepare.
- Break your report into sections (again, refer to Fitch reports for examples). Do not submit a bloc of text
- Submit Bibliography in the MLA format.
