Before you start working, review the collaboration project rubric to see how you will be graded on this assignment. It's a good idea to refer back to this document as you work on the project.
Select a minimum of two different body systems affected by the disease/syndrome chosen by your group. Systems that may be affected and should be discussed in your report (as appropriate) are:
Endocrine system
Excretory system
Immune system
Integumentary system
Muscular system
Nervous system
Respiratory system
Reproductive system
Skeletal system
Research your disease. Research should include the following information:
how the disease affects the systems
resulting damage and/or disruption
Determine the best way to present your research. Products can be presented in any of the formats mentioned below. You may choose one, or a combination of more than one, of the following presentation methods.
Medical brochure
News article
Slide show presentation (probably best to use slideshow)
Documentary film
Create a product that presents your work. To add some creativity, include images and graphs that will further explain any facts or evidence discussed. The final product should include an introduction that provides:
Name(s) of the disease or syndrome
Summary of the major effects of the disease on the human body
Cause(s), methods of transmission, whether it is communicable or genetic
History of the disease and its emergence and occurrence
Any other appropriate or notable background information about the disease
