Scholar Activity #9: Group analysis (35pts)

Objective

To analyze the dynamics of a group by applying terms group communication.

To evaluate those group member's contribution and performance.

Instructions

Using personal experience or material from film, tv, media, or literature, describe and analyze a group experience. Address the following:

• What are the positive aspects?
• Are there negative aspects?

Refer to the advantages and disadvantages to groups and identify any that you believe emerged.

Describe the roles in the group. Who was a leader? What leadership style(s) was exhibited? What group member roles did you observe? Use the terms from the lecture notes in your description and provide examples as support. What group roles did they take on? Task-oriented? Social? Individualistic? Use the terms from the lecture notes in your description and provide examples as support.

Write a minimum of 500 words (double-spaced 12 pt Times New Roman font).

Scholar's Activity #10: Self reflection (25 pts)

And just like that *finger snap* the class was over. Take a few moments and reflect back on your experience in the class.

In 1-2 pages discuss some of the things you found most interesting in the class.

Were there any concepts or theories that you saw actually come to life in your own interpersonal interactions?

What was the most helpful information for you? What impact did it have?

What was the least interesting  or helpful and why?

What would you like to learn more about?

Finally, what suggestions, if any, do you have that you feel would help improve the course? This is the first online version that I have done of Interpersonal Communication so any feedback that may help future students dealing with online learning is greatly appreciated.
