Communications Question

Overview

This will all be in relation to the research project that I just added in files. More context on the paper: we did a survey and content analysis of top 20 superbowl ads from 2024 and analyzed them based on their diversity levels and also a survey out to about 50 college students to review the ads and their diversity levels. All of the information can be found in the doc I provided. If you have any more questions feel free to send a message. NO AI including grammarly.

What needs to be done:

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY (1 page)

An executive summary is a thorough overview of a research report that synthesizes key points for its readers,

which includes an opening statement, the purpose of research study, an explanation of the method of data

gathering and analysis, an overview of the findings, and a description of recommendations for media

practitioners based on the findings.

VII. DISCUSSION & CONCLUSION (2-3 pages)

This is the most important section! In this section, that you will write entirely on your own, you are

discussing and reflecting upon your findings. What can you make of the findings? Were they what you

expected? This section should include the following:

● Summary of Findings: In discussing your findings, you should refer back to your theoretical

framework. Therefore, I expect to see some new sources cited here in your discussion. Do the

findings relate or not relate to the previous research you examined (and why or why not do you

think)? Be specific about what you mean—merely a general or overall assessment of your

findings is not enough.

● Strengths and Weaknesses: After discussing the findings, include a description of the strengths and

limitations of your research. What effect(s) do you think your design, your sample, and/or your

measures had on your results? Refer back to your lecture notes or the appropriate textbook chapter to

review the specific issues relevant to your type of study. Some issues you may want to consider here

are: operationalization (e.g., How might your definitions/measures have affected your results?);

internal and/or external validity (e.g., How well are you able to make causal statements [if you are

trying to]? How well are you able to generalize beyond your sample or to other settings/conditions?).

The best papers will be ones that discuss the most relevant issues and that provide the most

interesting insight and thorough use of course material.

● Future Directions: Next, suggest ways in which your study could be improved upon or supported

further by future research. What questions should researchers ask about your main research topic or

findings next? Be specific. How could your topic be studied through different methods? Again, be

specific and propose actual questions and studies using three other methods (i.e., if you conducted a

survey, how could your topic be studied through an experiment, a content analysis and qualitative

interviews?)

● Finally, you should write something about what your study will mean to academic as well as

professional fields. Why does your research matter in the long run? How might what you learned

from your study be applied? What are the anticipated benefits of your study to real-world or

theoretical problems?
