Overview

Please complete the three critical thinking questions that tie the reading for the week. They may also tie in to the episodes you viewed for the week. Each of the three questions should be answered in full paragraphs. 5-10 sentences at least is what i should see for a paragraph. Be thorough and detailed and always operate under the theory that the more the merrier.

This weeks questions:

1. On page 18, Lane describes what she believes is a Best Friend and then on page 20 she talks about the pros of a best friend. Did Lane miss anything? Are there cons to a Best Friend? Has concentrating all your friend love to one single person better than having a whole bunch or really good friends?

2. On page 23. Lane writes, "And the truth is, you're more likely to get it if you had a great childhood and loving parents". The "it" she is refering to is meaningful friendships. What do you think having a good childhood and loving parents means for having friends later in life?

3. On the top of page 25 the topic of gender differences in friendships comes up. In thinking about the dynamics of the friendships between the six main characters on Friends do you think their dynamics change based on their gender. Is Joey and Chandler's relationship different from Ross and Pheobe's is becuase they belong to the same gender? Or no? Why do you think that is?
