Overview
You are required to write a 1000- word research proposal on the behaviral economic topic. The essence of the research study is to formulate a research question, read the existing literature, collect quantitative secondary data, run a multivariate regression, generate the results and discuss it in the light of the existing research.
The proposal will consist of the following parts: Introduction, Literature review, Methodology, Conclusion, Bibliography. Introduction and Conclusion typically use 20 per cent of the word allowance (10 per cent each). The Literature review is expected to be more extensive than the Methodology. You are allowed to go above or below the word allowance by 10 per cent.
In the Introduction part, you must identify the context for research (why it is important), explicitly state the research question, aim and objectives. Also, do not forget to include the outline of the paper.
The Literature review section: you must relate the proposed research to the existing literature in the field. Please make sure you use peer-reviewed articles(at least 10), identify the strongest and weakest points raised by authors, establish the gaps in the literature and explain your research contribution. You must demonstrate how the literature review informed the formulation of the research question. It is advised to use headings and sub-headings in this section to demonstrate the funnel structure of the review.
The Methodology: the purpose of the section is to explain how the study is going to be executed. Explain the type of research design, method of reasoning, research philosophy to be adopted, and the rationale behind it. Specify the regression equation and proposed variables (more than 1 independent variable). Identify the sources of data, please make sure they are authentic and reliable.
